Robert N. Hartsell, P.A. proudly announces that Sarah M. Hayter will join our law practice as an Associate Attorney. Robert and Sarah have worked together on numerous cases over the years and share a great collegial and professional relationship. Sarah will certainly be an important asset to the firm.
Sarah M. Hayter’s primary practice area is environmental law. Ms. Hayter’s experience encompasses the non-profit, private and government sectors. Before joining Robert Hartsell, P.A., she worked for the Office of General Counsel at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, where she litigated administrative enforcement actions, including dredge and fill, air, industrial waste water and tanks cases. Additionally, she brings trial, appellate and advocacy experience from her work with the non-profit Everglades Law Center as well as a pro bono environmental attorney, in areas of law including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Power Plant Siting Act, Florida’s Growth Management Act and Everglades restoration. She also has private practice civil litigation experience, in which she has represented landlords, banks and creditors. In addition, Ms. Hayter’s credentials include renewable energy and climate change law, after being published and receiving her L.L.M. degree.
Ms. Hayter earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to receive her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center. While in law school, Ms. Hayter served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Peter Weinstein of the 17th judicial Circuit of Broward County, as well as a research assistant for Professor Roma Perez. Ms. Hayter concluded her legal studies upon receiving the L.L.M. degree magna cum laude in Environmental and Land Use Law and Policy from Florida State University College of Law. Ms. Hayter is a member of the Florida Bar and is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
