Robert Hartsell, Richard Grosso and the Everglades Law Center won a “huge” legal victory in Florida’s 4th District Court of Appeals in 1000 Friends of Florida v. Palm Beach County, 4D10-60 (August 3, 2011) on behalf of 1000 Friends of Florida and Sierra Club.  In one of three pending lawsuits regarding the permitting of limestone rock mining in the Everglades, the Court of Appeals overturned the lower court’s Order and concluded that the Bergeron Star Ranch Mine permit approval violated certain provisions of the Palm Beach County Comprehensive Plan.  The entire story can be read here in the Palm Beach Post.  The 4th District Court of Appeal opinion can be read here.
